If you never got a copy of SUMO, a fetish photo book by the late, legendary Helmut Newton, then you’re definitely not alone. You can still get the originals… if you’ve got over $400,000! Those of you who have read The Story of O might have longed to see a film version of the fetish erotica classic. Well, director Ernest Greene is a fan of the novel, and he considers his new film The Surrender of O to be a “fan fiction” devoted to it. Bree Olson is the new O, and does she ever look good enough to eat when she’s cuffed and chained! That box cover photo would make a fine poster.

When I was watching this film, I found myself caring almost as much about the plot as I did about the extremely erotic action. Wait a minute… plot in a fetish movie? Did someone get their peanut butter in my chocolate? Well, like chocolate and peanut butter, it works. Nina Hartley is Mistress Marie, who along with Mistress Nicole (Nicole Sheridan) catches Bree taking photos of herself masturbating. The dommes proceed to suspend O, flog her, strap her into a fucking machine, and punish her in many other delightful ways. After that incredibly arousing first scene, we find out that O is a photographer who has lost her edge after her former Master, Ray, left the country and she split up with her lover, Steven (who happens to be Ray’s brother). Mistress Marie offers O a place at The House — total lifestyle immersion — but she does warn that Steven sometimes visits, and O may run into him. O makes a fateful decision to accept Mistress Marie’s offer.Yes, of course she runs into Steven at the house. But who else will she encounter, and what exactly are the terms of her stay at The House?

There’s also a second part, with scenes that wouldn’t fit on the first disc. Part two is where you’ll find out what happens between O and her former lover (played by Evan Stone) after Mistress Marie plays matchmaker.
